TRC20 to ERC20 Bridge: How to Convert Between Networks

TRC20 and ERC20 are separate blockchains that cannot communicate natively. To move USDT or other tokens between the TRON and Ethereum networks, you must use a bridge—either through a centralized exchange or a decentralized cross-chain protocol.

Important Warning

Never send TRC20 USDT directly to an ERC20 address, or ERC20 USDT to a TRC20 address. The networks are incompatible and funds sent to the wrong address are permanently lost.

Method 1: Centralized Exchange Bridge

The easiest method to convert TRC20 USDT to ERC20 USDT is through a centralized exchange like Binance, OKX, or Kraken. Deposit USDT via TRC20, then withdraw via ERC20 to your destination Ethereum address. The exchange handles the cross-chain conversion internally. This method is reliable but requires KYC verification and incurs exchange withdrawal fees.

TRC20 to ERC20 bridge process

Decentralized cross-chain bridges like Symbiosis Finance allow direct wallet-to-wallet bridging without a centralized intermediary. Connect your TronLink wallet, select TRC20 USDT as the source, specify ERC20 USDT on Ethereum as the destination, and confirm the transaction. Bridge fees vary by protocol, typically 0.1%–0.3% of the transferred amount plus gas fees on both networks.

Estimated Costs and Times

Using a centralized exchange typically costs $1–$5 in withdrawal fees plus a brief processing delay of 10–30 minutes. Decentralized bridges are often faster (5–15 minutes) but require more technical comfort. Always start with a small test transaction before transferring large amounts to verify the process works as expected with your specific wallets and exchanges.
